Road Construction
The road construction on NE 119th Street will impact Glenwood Community Church in the upcoming weeks. Please plan for at least an additional 15 minutes of travel time. From Clark County's project website:
This project [to widen and improve NE 119th Street]... will replace the Curtin Creek culvert under NE 119th Street, about a half mile east of NE 72nd Avenue. This work will require closing NE 119th Street at Curtin Creek to through traffic.
This closure is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 7, and could last until late August. During culvert replacement, through traffic will need to use alternate routes, such as Padden Parkway to the south and NE 139th Street to the north.
How This Impacts Glenwood on Sundays
We have been given special permission from Clark County to use a portion of NE 119th St on Sundays during the construction.
Entrance
Beginning Sunday, July 12, vehicles will still be able to access Glenwood through both entrance points. Vehicles entering GCC on NE 72nd Ave may do so from either direction. However, only eastbound traffic on NE 119th St. will be able to enter GCC.
Exit
Beginning Sunday, July 12, until further notice, all vehicles must exit GCC via the NE 119th St. exit only. The NE 119th Street exit provides use of the traffic control light at NE 72nd Ave and NE 119th St. for all Glenwood traffic headed north, south or west. Due to increased traffic and safety concerns on NE 72nd Ave, vehicles will not be allowed to leave Glenwood via the 72nd Ave exit.
How This Impacts Glenwood Monday-Saturday
Beginning Tuesday, July 7, all vehicles entering and exiting Glenwood Community Church will do so via NE 72nd Ave only, Monday through Saturday. On those days, NE 119th St will be closed east of NE 72nd Ave and west of NE 87th Ave. In terms of landmarks, that's between the Chevron Gas Station and the light at St. John's Catholic Church.
Road conditions and restrictions may change over time. Please check back for updates (as they are available).
