Meat filled doughnuts, deep fried hamburger, or as the Haitians call it "Pate"! Definitely my personal favorite so far, the four I ate speaks to that! But I think the rest of the team would agree that tonight's dinner was delicious.
We got to go back to Merger again today to continue working on the kindergarten building! What a blessing it is to continue getting to know the Haitians we are working with and to spend more time with the kids!
As for the work on the building, I've been dubbed the square, metal, hoop (not exactly sure what it's called, yet they still trust me with it) bender. And the rest of the team worked hard pouring, mixing, and moving cement (not in that order). You can tell the week is drawing towards an end as each day we are all more and more exhausted come evening time.
But the kids refresh our spirits. They know the words "hey you" and we discovered they like yelling it at white people. As we pulled into the school yard we could hear the entire kindergarten class chanting "hey you, hey you, hey you". What a smile that brought to our faces!
This evening Johny and Rosadite stopped by for a visit. It was brief, but good to see them! We will get the chance to see them again on Saturday.
All in all, though tiring, today has been yet another day filled with the evidence of God's goodness!
